Pool Cages in Melbourne & Palm Bay, FL

A pool should be one of the most enjoyable parts of your backyard—not a constant battle with mosquitoes, leaves, bugs and debris. A custom pool cage creates a screened outdoor space around your pool so you can spend more time enjoying it and less time maintaining it.

Lafferty Aluminum & Screening designs and installs custom pool cages for homeowners throughout Melbourne, Palm Bay, Brevard County and Indian River County. Each enclosure is designed around your home, pool deck and outdoor space to create a finished structure that feels like a natural extension of your property.

Whether you're building a new pool, replacing an older enclosure or finally screening in an open pool deck, our team can help you design a pool cage built for Florida living.

What is a Pool Cage?

A pool cage is an aluminum-framed screen enclosure built around a swimming pool, pool deck or surrounding outdoor living area. In Florida, you may also hear homeowners refer to these structures as pool screen enclosures, swimming pool enclosures or simply screen enclosures.

The purpose is simple: create a more comfortable outdoor area while maintaining the open-air feeling Florida homeowners love.
‍
Pool cages allow natural light and airflow into your outdoor space while helping keep mosquitoes, insects, leaves and other debris away from your pool and deck.

Why Florida Homeowners Choose Pool Cages

Keep Bugs Out

Mosquitoes, flies and other insects can make even a beautiful backyard difficult to enjoy. Screening creates a barrier around the pool area while still allowing fresh air to move through the enclosure.

Reduce Leaves and Debris

A pool cage helps prevent leaves, branches, grass clippings and other debris from constantly finding their way into your pool. That can mean less skimming and a cleaner-looking pool area.

Create a More Comfortable Outdoor Space

Your pool deck becomes more than somewhere to swim. A screened enclosure gives you a defined outdoor living space for relaxing, entertaining, dining and spending time with family.

Protect More of Your Pool Area

Instead of screening only a small patio or sitting area, a pool cage can surround the pool, deck and adjoining outdoor space to create one cohesive enclosure.

Add a Finished Look to Your Backyard

Every pool cage is designed around the home. Frame configuration, roof style, screen selection and enclosure dimensions can all be customized so the finished structure complements your property.

Custom Pool Cage Designs

No two Florida backyards are exactly alike, which is why we don't take a one-size-fits-all approach to pool cages. Our team can help you choose the enclosure configuration that works with your pool deck, roofline, home and how you plan to use the space.

Pool Cage vs. Pool Enclosure: What's the Difference?

The terms are often used interchangeably in Florida, but there can be a slight difference in how homeowners use them.

A pool cage generally refers specifically to the aluminum and screen structure surrounding a swimming pool and pool deck.
A pool enclosure is a broader term that can describe the same structure but may also be used when discussing different enclosure designs or larger outdoor areas.

And a screen enclosure is broader still—it can surround a pool, patio, porch, lanai or another outdoor living space. If you aren't sure which term describes the project you have in mind, that's completely fine. Our team can look at your space and help determine the right enclosure design for your home.
