An enclosure a few blocks from the Atlantic is a different structure from one built inland. Barrier-island homes face open-water wind from the ocean on one side and the river on the other, and the design wind requirements are higher. Every beachside enclosure we build is:
One stretch of A1A can cross four different building departments. Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Indialantic and Melbourne Beach each issue their own permits. Unincorporated areas like Melbourne Shores and Floridana Beach go through Brevard County. In Indian River County, Indian River Shores and Orchid have their own offices, and the rest of the coast goes through the county or the City of Vero Beach.
We confirm the right jurisdiction for your address and handle the engineered drawings, permit and inspections. On oceanfront lots, we also check early whether the project sits seaward of the state's Coastal Construction Control Line, which can require an additional state permit.
Add 16" or 24" kickplates, a chair rail, screen doors and lockable pet doors. For more height and a more open feel, ask about a transom roof.
Salt air is hard on aluminum structures, and many beachside cages have been through decades of storms. If yours has corroded fasteners, bent members or patched panels, a new enclosure built to current code is usually safer and more cost-effective than ongoing repairs. If the frame is still sound, our beachside screen repair team can rescreen it instead.

Yes. They're engineered for the higher wind loads near the ocean, anchored to properly sized footers, and built with corrosion-resistant materials for salt air.
Florida Glass blocks blowing rain, sand and salt spray and adds privacy. Many homeowners use it on the ocean-facing side and standard or no-see-um mesh on the rest.
It depends on your town. Each beach city issues its own permits, and unincorporated areas go through the county. We confirm your jurisdiction and handle the permit.
Only on some oceanfront lots. If your project is seaward of the CCCL, it may need an additional state permit. We check this during the estimate.
Rinse it with fresh water every month or two, sweep sand off the base, and have fasteners and doors checked yearly.
