Screen enclosures

New Screen Enclosures for Beachside Homes in Brevard & Indian River County, FL

Near the beach, the outdoor space is the whole reason you're here — but between the sun, the salt, the bugs, and the storms, an open patio or pool deck only gets used a fraction of the time. A new screen enclosure changes that: it turns your pool, lanai, or patio into a comfortable, bug-free, shaded extension of your home you can actually live in. And because we design, engineer, permit, and build the whole thing — right down to the foundation — you deal with one team from start to finish.

We build new screen enclosures for homes throughout Brevard and Indian River County — from Cocoa Beach and Satellite Beach through Indialantic and Melbourne Beach, and down into Vero Beach, Indian River Shores, and Orchid — engineered from the ground up for coastal conditions.

New enclosures we build

Whatever your outdoor space calls for, we build it new:

  • Pool enclosures (pool cages) — screen structures over your pool and deck.
  • Screen rooms — screened, open-air rooms off the house.
  • Patio enclosures — screening in an existing patio or lanai.
  • Composite (insulated) roofs — a solid, insulated roof over an outdoor space; details on our pergolas page.
  • Composite rooms — fully enclosed, insulated, climate-controlled glass rooms; details on our composite rooms page.

The three below are the heart of what most beachside homeowners build.

Pool enclosures, screen rooms, and patio enclosures

Pool enclosures are the classic Florida pool cage — an aluminum-framed screen structure over the pool and deck that keeps out insects, leaves, and debris, cuts the sun, and adds a real measure of safety around the water. On the coast, they turn a pool that's unusable in bug season or blazing midday sun into one you'll actually swim in.

Screen rooms are screened, open-air rooms built off the back of the house — a shaded, breezy space for dining, lounging, or entertaining that stays open to the ocean air while keeping the bugs and sun out. (If you want that space sealed, insulated, and air-conditioned instead, that's a composite room.)

Patio enclosures screen in a patio or lanai you already have, making the most of an existing slab and turning it into protected outdoor living without building from scratch.

We'll help you choose the right one for how you live and what your space allows.

We build it all — including the foundation

Here's what sets a full new build with us apart: we don't just set the enclosure, we build the base it stands on. We offer both concrete and paver foundation services for a new-build enclosure, so the whole project — the engineered footing or slab and the structure on top of it — is handled by one team, built to work together, and permitted as one job. No coordinating a separate concrete contractor and hoping it all lines up. (More on the engineered base is on our beachside foundations page, and on surfaces on our concrete and pavers pages.)

Engineered for the coast

A new enclosure on the barrier island is a different structure than one built inland, and we build it accordingly:

  • Engineered and permitted to the oceanfront wind-load for your location, with drawings and inspections.
  • Anchored to an engineered foundation so it holds in high wind — the base is part of the build, not an afterthought.
  • Salt-grade materials — corrosion-resistant powder-coated aluminum framing and stainless hardware that stand up to salt air.

Choose your screen

The mesh is where you tailor the enclosure to coastal life:

  • No-see-um mesh — a finer weave that blocks the tiny biting insects and sand gnats common near the water.
  • Solar mesh — cuts more of the sun's heat and glare.
  • Privacy mesh — more seclusion from neighbors or the beach.

How a new build works

  1. Design consultation — we look at your space, talk through how you'll use it, and recommend the right enclosure and foundation.
  2. Engineered drawings and permitting — plans showing the structure, anchorage, and foundation meet the coastal wind-load code; we handle the permits.
  3. Foundation — we build the concrete or paver base engineered for your enclosure.
  4. Construction — we build the enclosure and install your chosen screen.
  5. Walkthrough — we confirm everything's right before we're done.

What shapes your estimate

Every enclosure is quoted to the design and site:

  • Type and size — pool cage, screen room, or patio enclosure, and its footprint.
  • Foundation — concrete or paver base, or building on a sound existing slab.
  • Roof style — screen roof vs. an insulated composite roof.
  • Screen — your mesh choice.
  • Engineering and permits — drawings, permitting, and inspections.

You get a clear, itemized estimate, and financing is available.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build the foundation too, or do I need a separate contractor?

We build it all. We offer both concrete and paver foundation services for a new-build enclosure, so one team handles the engineered base and the structure on top of it as a single, permitted project — no coordinating a separate concrete contractor. See our beachside foundations page for the details.

What types of new enclosures do you build?

Pool enclosures (pool cages), screen rooms, and patio enclosures, plus composite (insulated) roofs and fully enclosed composite rooms. The composite options have their own pages — composite roofs/pergolas and composite rooms.

How is a new enclosure built to handle coastal storms?

It's engineered and permitted to the oceanfront wind-load, anchored to an engineered foundation, and built with corrosion-resistant aluminum and stainless hardware. The base and the structure are designed to work together.

Concrete or paver foundation — which is right for my enclosure?

It depends on your site and your goals, and we offer both. We'll help you choose during the design consultation — see our concrete and pavers pages for more on each.

What's the difference between a screen room and a composite room?

A screen room is screened and open to the air. A composite room is fully enclosed, insulated, and climate-controlled. See our beachside composite rooms page for the enclosed option.

What screen should I choose for a beachside enclosure?

No-see-um mesh for the tiny coastal biting insects, or solar or privacy mesh depending on your exposure. We'll recommend based on your site.

Do I need a permit?

Yes. New enclosures require engineered drawings and permits, which we handle, and the work is inspected.

What if I already have an enclosure that just needs work?

Then you want repairs, not new construction — see our beachside screen repairs page.
